Google Me - Poised to take on Facebook?

Recently, there's been talk about Google's new social media 'thing', called Google Me. I say 'thing' because nobody is really sure exactly what it is. It could be an attempt at some sort of social media site like facebook, but they already have Google Buzz, which was kind of an attempt in itself. On the other hand it could be something more email-ish; but then again, the now defunct Google Wave was their attempt at something like that. For right now, we're going to have to wait until Google tells us more. Here is a little more information if you are interested in Google Me; which you should be in order to take advantage of new technology to help your business.

The next step Google has done, however, is to invest somewhere around $100-$200 million into Zynga, the game company that is responsible for such Facebook classics like Farmville and Mafia Wars. It looks as if Google is going to have some great games incorporated into Google Me. With the addition of popular games from Zynga and ever increasing problems coming out to the public about Facebook (privacy, hacking, history of Facebook's founder Zuckerberg, etc), Google may be able to take the number one spot in social media, "myspacing" the current giant, Facebook.
